Apprenticeship Programme

Intermediate Apprenticeship
During your Intermediate Apprenticeship, you will be placed on a weekly schedule of 4 days a week working in your salon plus a minimum of 1 model night per week. This is then complemented with 1 day a week at the HOB Apprentice Academy working towards the Hair Professional Standards at Level 2 in conjunction with HOB in-house training. In addition, you will be visited in your salons every 6 weeks by your HOB Assessor. The Apprenticeship will take between 18-24 months to achieve and all elements of the standards must be complete, including an External End Point Assessment (Trade test) .

ELEMENTS OF THE LEVEL 2 APPRENTICESHIP STANDARDS

Level 2 Diploma in Hair Professionals – Hairdressing or Barbering Course Structure
Level 2 Diploma in Hair Professionals – Hairdressing or Barbering qualifications require you to work in a commercial hairdressing salon or barbers whereby assessment must be carried out on real live clients in line with commercial service times. Alongside your hairdressing or barbering Standards, you must complete your maths and English to a minimum of Level 1 Functional Skills and work towards level 2 (Unless you have evidence of prior achievement.)
This qualification enables you to progress to Level 3 Hairdressing.

Advanced Apprenticeship
You are placed on a weekly schedule of 3-4 days a week working in-salon plus a minimum of 1 model night per week. This is then complemented with 1-2 days a week at the HOB Apprentice Academy and The Graduate Academy working towards the Apprenticeship Level 3 Framework and the HOB in-house training programme. In addition, you will be visited in your salons every 6 weeks by your HOB Assessor. The Apprenticeship will take between 12-18 months to achieve and all elements of the framework must be completed.

ELEMENTS OF THE LEVEL 3 APPRENTICESHIP FRAMEWORK

NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing Course Structure
NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing qualification requires you to work in a commercial hairdressing salon whereby assessment must be carried out on real live clients in line with commercial service times. Alongside your Level 3 hairdressing framework, you must complete your maths and English Functional Skills to level 2 (Unless you have evidence of prior achievement.)

Together with this qualification you will train to become a Graduate Stylist/Colour Technician.
